Everyone,
Global Position Systems (GPS), Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing (RS) are all part of the rapidly growing field of spatial technologies. These technologies combine to create a powerful, flexible computer-based system that allows users to collect, manage, analyze and display spatial information -- or more simply put, data that has a location component, such as a street address, zip code, or x,y coordinate. Nearly 80 percent of the data we all work with is spatial; it's more exciting and effective to work with the data visually using maps.
