Google Earth, Microsoft Virtual Earth and the multitude of mashups on the web have changed traditional GIS for the better, opening up all sorts of lower cost possibilities for interactive mapping on the web. Be sure to allow pop-ups within your browser.

Fly through your town’s historic sites, snowmobile trails, or zoning districts in 3-D using Google Earth, look at your data in Google Maps on your smart phone, or with a background topo map on your GPS receiver.
